Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan today took stock of work on Zamstyang-Mutirik-Choskore road being constructed under NABARD at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
The CEC was informed that around 90percent work on the 8.5 kilometer long road stretch has been completed on which Rs 5.74 crore have been expended so far.
The concerned officers further informed the CEC that remaining work on the project is expected to be completed by the year-end thereby providing facility of short distance road connectivity to Mutirik and adjoining hamlets in the Choskore area comprising around 2000 souls.
The CEC appreciated the engineers of PWD Kargil and the concerned contractor, technical men and labourers for having made noteworthy progress on the project despite difficulties in terms of the rocky structure and rough terrain of the area. Kacho exhorted upon the concerned to ensure completion of the remaining work in the stipulated period of time so that people of the area are benefitted.
Considering the unique geographical location and scenic potential of the road stretch, the CEC directed the concerned officers to explore possibilities for setting up of viewpoints at suitable locations for the amusement of tourists and the general people.
