CUJ’s students seek justice for Rassana case, amid controversy over investigation by CB

Leaving aside the controversy arisen over investigation of “murder and rape” of eight years old nomad, of Rassana village, of Kathua district, by the J&K. Crime Branch by Hindu Ekta Manch, the students of Central University of Jammu, on Wednesday sought justice for the victim of heinous crime committed on her by some people.
Participating in Rangoli competition, organized at Central University of Jammu, under UDAAN-2018, an annual event, some students made a Rangoli seeking justice for Victim.
“Was I molested even though my clothes never came off”, the message of Rangoli written by the students read, and added, “Justice for Rassana Case Victim.” It is pertinent to mention here that alleging biasness in ongoing investigation by Crime Branch into the case, under the banner of Hindu Ekta Manch, the people are demanding that the case be handed over to CBI.
On Monday, the Members of Bar Association of Kathua, prevented to Crime Branch by entering into court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kathua to produce Challan in the case. On most of the business establishments in Jammu city remain closed and public transport also remain off road, in response to Bandh call given by the Bar Association of Jammu.
victim’s body was found after 10 days of her abduction, while she was grazing cattle, after pressure from opposition and civil society, the state government handed over the investigation to Crime Branch and the Crime Branch has so arrested several people including some Police Officials.
