JKNPP has sought a high level probe into the nasty threats by the BJP goons being issued to a R&B Engineer who had been charged Rs. 6 lacs for his transfer by a BJP MLA, said Mr. Gagan Partap State Secretary JKNPP.
He said that having been exposed through a recorded statement made by the Engineer, the delinquent MLA was using criminals to threaten the said AEE of serious consequences for having divulged the secret deal. He said that pressures were being mounted upon the Engineer to change the statement failing which threats of termination were also being held out to him.
Seeking a high level probe into the whole gamut of paid transfer and the subsequent threats, Mr. Gagan Partap sought appropriate action against the guilty in accordance with law. He regretted that no cognizance was being taken of the duly recorded statement of the AEE accusing the BJP MLA of bribery despite the same having been widely reported by the media. He said that non initiation of action against the accused MLA had emboldened him to the extent that he was using criminals to threaten the said Engineer. He said that the Engineer had been terrorized to the extent that he was constantly requesting the Panthers Party leaders not to air the recorded statement.
Mr. Rajesh Padgotra, Provincial President JKNPP regretted that the law and order in the state had reached a point where the culprit despite his highly scandalous conduct and shameful offense roamed freely and the hapless victim harassed and intimidated. He said that the BJP-PDP misrule could be best exemplified by the present episode wherein the offender was openly threatening the victim and the resourceless govt employee repenting and seeking forgiveness for having been exploited and extorted. He said that threatening a govt employee to deny his own statement of having been duped by using the name of ruling party and further scaring him by muscle power was most scandalous and shameful. This obviously was not the definition of the slogan of “Achhe Din” so loudly propagated by NaMo during elections, said Padgotra.
Asserting that the law did not differentiate between the mighty and the weak, the JKNPP leaders sought immediate action against the culprits and a CBI probe into all pending complaints of corruption and criminal activities against the delinquent MLA. Pertinent to mention that several complaints of disproportionate assets are pending against the said MLA including construction of huge residential bunglow, illegal occupation of huge tracts of state land, smuggling and use of deodar wood for his newly constructed palatial bunglow at Kail Majalta, duping of unemployed youth in the name of employment, withdrawal of incentives and subsidies meant for poor and BPL persons in the name of his family members, irregularities in the implementation of SDRF, CDF, Bad pocket funds, sponsoring back door appointments besides others, claimed Padgotra.
Maintaining that fight against corruption like charity must begin from home, Mr. Rajesh Padgotra dared the top BJP leadership to order a CBI probe against the MLA who had earned the dubious distinction of being the most notorious and corrupt MLA.
