Ensure innocents are not inconvenienced Mehbooba tells police

Asking police to ensure innocents are not inconvenienced during its job, the Chief Minsiter Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday stressed upon on JKP to play its role in ensuring success of the process by providing a positive atmosphere on the ground.

The Chief Minister, addressing the attestation cum passing out parade at Police Training School here at Manigam in valley said the recent initiatives of state as well centre government needs to be made successful by providing a positive atmosphere on the ground.
“Over the past year or so many young officers and jawans of the force, besides men from Army and other security forces, have laid their lives for maintaining peace in the State”, the CM recounted and added that they displayed exemplary patience during extreme situations.
She also advised the Police Department to adopt a healing touch approach while dealing with the day to day situation in the State.
“Criminal elements need to be dealt with firmly care should be taken that innocent civilians are not put to any inconvenience”, she asserted.
Terming the in-depth investigation of cases despite provocations and rumors as another challenge in day to day policing, Mehbooba advised the Police to remain steadfast on its professional commitment and take the investigations to their logical ends.

“The cases of braid chopping happened in other States as well but in J&K cases were lodged and probes ordered”, she said and hoped that the cases would be thoroughly investigated and persons and agencies involved would be unmasked.
