Former Dy CM Dr Nirmal Singh likely to elect Speaker of J&KLA on Thursday

Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Billawar Prof Nirmal Singh likely to be elected as new Speaker, as the post fell vacant for induction of, Kavinder Gupta the former Speaker as Deputy Chief Minister, after re

cent reshuffle in Council of Ministers in state.

According to communiqué issued by the Raj Bhawan, the Governor J&K, N N Vohra has fixed May 10, date for election of the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, as post was vacant since reshuffle in Cabinet.

Meanwhile, regarding elections for Speaker, the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs moved the Dr Nirmal Singh, MLA Billawar be chosen as the Speaker of the JKLA, copy of list of business for May 10 issued by Secretary, JKLA read.
