Justice for Rassana Case Victim: NSF takes out Candle march in MAM College

Seeking justice for 8-yr-old girl from Rassana village of Kathua district who was raped and murdered in the month of January this year, a candle-march protest was taken out on Monday evening in MAM College.

Hostel by the National Secular Forum (NSF) under the president ship of Pushpinder Singh and Anshu Sharma. Addressing the gathering here today, Pushpinder Singh Sr leader National Secular Forum said that Govt should honour the public sentiment and order a CBI probe so as to identify the actual culprits, without fear or favour, and to accord them exemplary punishment. He said that people had expressed doubts over the credibility of present investigating agency, the Crime Branch, on the ground of inclusion of some officers of doubtful integrity in the enquiry committee. “Give death penalty to those who are the culprits, but harassment of innocents under the garb of enquiry was something that had sparked massive outrage not only in Kathua but other districts as well”, he said.

Anshu Sharma MAM College President pointed out that when one section of state Police Department was reportedly found incompetent by the government to handle this case in the beginning, how the Home Department under the nose of Mahmooba Mufti can convince people of Jammu for fair investigation by the same police in the name of Crime Branch which once failed to do justifiable investigation in this case, he added.

Anshu blamed the state government for creating hostile situation of hatred dividing people of different communities hitherto known for living in cordial and hormonous manner since decades. He said that due to mischievous handling the Kashmir crisis on the plank of blame game by the state government, Kashmir valley has been thrust to devastating fire and now on the PDP/ BJP is playing a dangerous game on the issue of deceased innocent girl with the tacit intention to create atmosphere of communal clashes between two communities instead of fair probe by Central Bureau of Investigation free from the interference of state government and local politicians. Munesh Sharma also said that Govt should honour the public sentiment and order a CBI probe so as to identify the actual culprits, without fear or favour, and to accord them exemplary punishment. He said that people had expressed doubts over the credibility of present investigating agency, the Crime Branch, on the ground of inclusion of some officers of doubtful integrity in the enquiry committee. “Give death penalty to those who are the culprits, but harassment of innocents under the garb of enquiry was something that had sparked massive outrage not only in Kathua but other districts as well”, Sharma said.
