Justice for Rassana case Victim: Police trying to shield culprits, alleges civil society


Seeking justice for Rassana case victim, an eight years girl, for Gujjar community, who was kidnapped, raped and brutally murdered in Kathua, district of Jammu, the members of civil society on Saturday took out a protest rally in Jammu.
A good number of people including students, scholars, advocates and other members of civil society assembled outside Press Club of Jammu. Leading the rally, senior Advocate, J&K High Court, Ashok Basotra, alleged that Police is trying to shield the actual culprits. “The girl remained untraced for 10 days of after she was kidnapped, while she was grazing goats, after ten days her mutilated body was recovered”, he said and added that Police did not take the matter seriously from the day one, when she was kidnapped.


“To save actual culprits, Police has arrested a 15 years old boy, but who it is possible that a 15 years old boy can keep the girls 10 day with his without support other peoples”, he questioned and added that the police should conduct and free and fair investigation into the heinous crime. “This is an offence against, entire society, not against any individual”, he said and asked the people to join the movement to get justice for the victim.
