Kargil: Anganwari Workers, Helpers go strike

Supporting the State Level Strike of J&K Anganwari Workers & Helpers Association, the Association Branch in Kargil also started Strike from Today and the executive body along with its president submitted a memorandum to Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeyaz Ahmad Kacho. 

The ADC Kargil assured the Executive Body of the Association that he will send the memorandum to the Chief Minister. The president of the Association while talking to media told that she has the support of all her workers and helpers of the district and she is demanding for enhancement of their Honorarium which is mere Rs 32, 00 from the last two decades and is not sufficient to meet ends in this era. She told that when government can sanction the 10 % SDA to the employees keeping in view the topographical and demographical difficulties of Ladakh Region, I think they should have concern towards the miseries of the Angarwari workers and helpers.

The President further told that they have also demanded for sanctioning of 25 more centres already proposed by the district administration and creation of more supervisor posts which is still pending as well as the experience of 5/10 years for graduate and matriculate Angarwari workers for promotion/engagement as supervisor should be counted from date of Engagement.
