The Deputy Commissioner Leh, Avny Lavasa, today said that measures are in the way of planning to develop border belts of the district. For this purpose she said that Rs. 14.60 crore has been approved for the year 2018-19 for construction and upgradation of roads, buildings community gathering centres, footpaths, link roads, culverts, minor irrigation channel in the borders belts of the Leh district under Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
The DC stated this during officers meeting she chaired here today. Among the members present at the meeting were the Councilors of Leh district representing Nyoma, Tangtse, Nubra and Khaltsi. She directed the officers of Rural Development Department and R&B to gear up their men and machinery to ensure timely completion of ongoing developmental works at Nyoma, Tangtse, Nubra and Khaltse. And she also asked the officers to personally monitor the ongoing development works in their respective jurisdictions and to reach out to the people and address development-related issues with promptness.
