The activists of National Secular Forum (NSF) today celebrated the ouster of Prof Ramji Dass from the post of Vice Chancellor of Jammu University and also welcomed the new incumbent Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, who assumed the chair yesterday.
NSF activists, who spearheaded the campaign against the prevalent misgovernance and corruption under the rule of Prof Ramji Dass for three years, took out a victory procession and danced to the tunes of drum and distributed sweets among the students, scholars, teachers and other officials on the campus to celebrate their victory.
Later, they visited Vice Chancellor’s Chamber and extended congratulations to the new incumbent for taking over the reins of the varsity. They extended their whole-hearted support to the new Vice Chancellor and demanded institution of inquiry against Prof Ramji Dass who committed several irregularities during his three year tenure. The NSF activists made it clear that nothing short of inquiry against Prof Ramji Dass were acceptable to them and would not hesitate to re-launch their agitation for the same. The NSF leaders expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders who supported them throughout the phase of struggle.
