The searches were conducted by NIA at five locations in Jammu and Kashmir and arrested four people for allegedly raising funds and recruiting for Islamic State on Wednesday.
Out of the total five searches conducted, three were conducted in Jammu and Kashmir’s and one each in the city of Mangaluru and Bengaluru. Two arrested individuals Obaid Hamid belongs from Srinagar and Muzammil Hassan Bhat from Bandipora of Jammu and Kashmir and Ammar Abdul Rahman from Ullal and Ali Muaviya from Bengaluru. NIA also seized a laptop, pen drives, hard disc, mobile phone and sim cards of different companies during the searches. In a statement, NIA said, “they were involved in raising funds and radicalizing and motivating more people to join ISIS”.
