In a bizarre move which is considered to be the first of its kind in the official function chaired by his Lt. Guv. Manoj Sinha ‘My town My pride’, a Councilor stands on his toes and raised the issue of which has been cropped off Police housing complex at Channi Himmat Jammu of road blockade.
In order to ascertain the reason behind interrupting the LGs function News portal Straight line met with Corporator Raj Kumar Tarkhan. The Councilor talking to a news portal stated that he has raked up the issue of vital importance two times adding, first through the medium of writing and that has been forwarded to the Divisional commissioner Jammu. The matter is of the year 2019 which is of the Police housing complex constructed by the Police in Channi Himmat. Pathway has been closed but people are left with no other option than to forcibly used that closed pathway.
After waiting for a considerable period of time for resolving of the dispute which has arisen on account of the blockade of the pathway commoners are facing insurmountable hardships as such then we protested, then the police came they said we made two walls from both sides then this issue would be settled, Aggrieved and dejected Corporator Raj Kumar rued while talking to Straight line.
Going down memory lane, the Councilor lamented even former DC Jammu who is presently posted as CEO of Shrine Board Anshul Garg, then Divisional commissioner Jammu Dr. Raghav Langer, and IGP Jammu also visited the spot” Aggrieved Raj Kumar divulged adding, What is more, intriguing and baffling under the garb of Covid 19 they stopped the movement of vehicles to pass through this passage.
When asked has any deliberations taking place with the government and also apprise what is the present status of now to this perturbed and peeved Raj Kumar divulged that even a letter had also been written to the Divisional commissioner Jammu and at this stage, the case is at last moment. Three times met the commissioner secretary’s Home in this regard and Commissioner Secretary in question wrote to several officers but it’s an irony and better we called the sorry state of affairs still the road is closed, the Councilor expressed his deep anguish and displeasure over the working of the government.
Turning tables against the much-hyped program launched by the government ‘My town My pride’ the Councilor went to the extent of saying as to what questions to be asked in this My town my pride? Masses’ grievances are not been settled. It’s more than one year but nothing concrete has been done in this regard rather we called it mere publicity, Raj Kumar regretted. The JMC Councilor dared the government that tells us as to what sort of grievances they redressed in My town, My pride.
The moot question which arose for sympathetic consideration is whether Government can take our land. This is only a contentious issue. About 22000 people are affected on account of the blockade of this road and this pathway has become that of the India VS Pakistan border, Raj Kumar further lamented. On being asked whether the Divisional commissioner would resolve this dispute once and for all and do you have faith that the dispute will be resolved in the days to come, the Dejected public representative categorically stated that the Divisional commissioner will resolve the dispute as he quickly to add that armed police grabbed the land illegally.
