The death of the toddler at SMGS Hospital at Shalimar Jammu has fumed the attendants over the death of a toddler and they in a fit of rage beaten the Registrar, as per reports that emerged on social media.
In the backdrop of the incident of beating the Registrar, this has brewed resentment amongst the Doctors’ fraternity and they staged a vociferous protest outside the Principal office of Government Medical College & Hospital Jammu (GMC&H).
Police also rushed to the protesting site at the Government medical college Hospital in order to pacify the protesting doctors. Police assures of timely action but protesting doctors unrelenting that the way attendants beat the registrar it would be difficult for us to carry on our professional duties given the attacks done on them. Doctors told to police that they would first do hectic deliberations then after that they would be dispersed.
One of the doctors minced no words in saying that we are under grave threat adding, as an attendant attacked us. When the condition of the patients ailing as such, we tried our level best in terms of providing them the best possible treatment but when we remained under threat of attendants to beat us then we would not able to do our professional duties “he maintained. Even due to the protest OPD in the SMGS Hospital as well as in the GMCH remained paralyzed and suspended against the beating of a registrar in the SMGS Hospital.
