The class 10 students in Jammu stage protest at Jewel chowk for mass promotion on Tuesday. Around 200 students have been declared failed by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
The protesting students claimed that they were declared fail even after they had been assured of mass promotion by the JKBOSE. The aggrieved students alleged that their answer sheets were not checked properly and the evaluation criteria adopted by the JKBOSE was faulty. Due to the pandemic, the exams for class 10 were cancelled by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. The JKBOSE was directed to promote them to class 11 based on their performance in internal assessment and subjects for which exams were undertaken initially. The results were declared on June 29th of this year. The girls outshined the boys in the result as always.
