It sound strange but fact that under President rules in J&K, since August 2019, the LG administration achieved many goals in good governance, at same times there are some officers, who are brining bad name for entire UT administration. In a similar case, the Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu has reportedly different yardsticks in transfers of Agriculture Extension Assistants (AEAs) and Junior Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEOs). According to sources, 58 out of 60 overstaying Agriculture Extension Assistants posted in Kathua district beyond seven years stay, have been posted in same district by the Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, who is also a resident of district Kathua.

“Vide order number 140-DAJ of 2023 dated 20/04/2023, total 60 AEAs were transferred by the director, 58 officials against posted in same district, while two officials s,no 16 posted in Samba while s.no. 58 posted in Jammu district”, sources informed the Hidden News, adding that in same two more transfer orders were issued by the director, in both the orders, inter district transfers made.
“Order number 134-DAJ of 2023 dated 19/04/2023, 13 AEAs were transferred, but all these transfers made inter districts and in another order no 143-DAJ of 2023 dated 29/04/2023 total seven Junior Agriculture Extension Officers transferred, all these transfers were also inter districts”, sources said, adding that in his home district the director adopted different yardsticks.
“We have sent a representation to ACS, Agriculture Production Department, but we came to know that the Director has patronage of ACS, but if timely actions are taken by the administrative department, then we will knock the doors of Chief Secretary, Arun Mehta ji, who is known for his honesty and dedication, we know that the director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu have face consequences, because, the CS does not spare even IAS and IPS officers, but unfortunately, we have no other option, so we will send our representation to the CS”, they added.
