Soaring price of the Tomatoes pinched the gullible consumers as they saying that now buying a tomatoes are out of their budget as presently tomatoes sold for Rs 160 per kg. Tomato which is an important fruit and used in different food items adding, but given the sudden exorbitant increase in the prices of tomatoes this has left the consumers high and dry.
Sadia, House wife said “I have never ever in my life heard about the so much hike in the prices of tomatoes which are now sold for Rs 160 per kg. I had not put the tomatoes in the food since the day there has been increase in the prices of it. It is beyond ones comprehension as to why there has been increase in the prices of tomatoes”, she rued while training guns against the government for not controlling the prices of the tomatoes without which one can’t have taste in their foods.
“I have went to sabzi mandi Rani park and seen tomatoes not been bought by the consumers”, Ashish one of the consumers lamented rued adding, vendors selling the tomatoes divulged that since the increase in the prices of tomatoes consumers not buying the same and we are suffering allot as we have slump business due to the increase in the prices of tomatoes”, he vehemently asserted.
Madhu, a house wife echoing similar views, While lashes out at the government for their failure to control the prices of the tomatoes resultant there in the consumers are feeling the brunt of the same as the common men couldn’t able to bought the tomatoes due to it’s unprecedented increase in the prices of tomatoes. Already skyrocketed prices of essential commodities broken the back of the common men and now tomatoes soaring prices kept it out of the kitchen of the consumers”, she maintained. “Don’t know till how much time the soaring prices of the tomatoes remained continue and one can astonished to know the prices of Rs 160 per kg of tomatoes. Soaring prices of anything occurred when there is wide gap between demand and supply. Either there are shortage of tomatoes from the states where it came to UT of JK and demand is much more. So, in order to fill the gap of demand and supply tomatoes prices gone all time high. But it’s the consumers who are feeling the heat of the increase in the essential commodities “She categorically stated and urged the government to reduce the prices of the tomatoes. Sooner the government do the better it would be in the interest of the gullible consumers at large. One of the social activist lamented that since the day this government came to power instead of providing relief from the exorbitant prices of the essential commodities this has drilled holes in the pockets of the consumers as everything gone skyrocketing and this government filled their own coffers from where ever they get chance.
Mocking at the very infamous slogan of “ache din aayege” of this government, Social Activist Castigated the government that hardships of the masses further get increased to a larger extent. Even what is more astonishing and intriguing protests which used to occurred during the erstwhile regimes when they increased the prices of essential commodities, but in this regime protests by so called organizations and parties not staged for the welfare of the masses and the consumers being made to left to fend for themselves which is totally condemnable in a democratic country”, he regretted. The moot question arisen as to why the different opposition parties maintained criminal and guarded silence over the soaring prices of the tomatoes, Social Activist asked? Are these opposition parties don’t have any interest in the soaring prices of the tomatoes which are adversely affecting the budget of the gullible consumers? Whether for the opposition parties this soaring prices of the tomatoes not an issue for their votes bank? Government needs to reduce the prices of the tomatoes at the earliest as the consumers are simmering with discontent and brews with resentment against the government.
