‘SHO Kanachack shifted to Kathua district, likely to get posted SHO Kathua’

Swiftly acting upon a complaint lodged by a senior scribe regarding an alleged deal with drug peddlers, caught with heroin after an exchange of huge bribe, the officials of Kanachack Police Station let them off and misbehaved by Munshi of the Police Station, the SSP Jammu Dr Vinod Kumar has ordered separate enquiries into both incidents.
The incident of misbehaving a senior scribe by the Munshi of Police Station Kanachack took place on October 31 at around 9;45 p.m., when the journo working on a story contacted the Munshi to enquire alleged deal for the release of a drug peddler, who was reportedly caught by Kanachack Police along with drug. As the munshi picked up the phone and the journo introduced himself and asked questions, Munshi got infuriated and started abusing the journo. The Munish even threatened to him falsely implicate him or his family members in unsolved cases of the past. The journo prior to calling Munishi, tried to contact SHO Kanachack for his version as allegations against the Police were serious and could have brought a bad name for the department if a one-sided story was published, but despite repeated calls SHO Kanachack, Sandeep Singh Chib did not respond to the phone calls.
Annoyed over the behavior of a Police official (Munshi), holding a respectable position, this contacted SSP Jammu Dr Vinod Kumar narrated the entire incident, and SSP assured appropriate action as per law. But, the distressed journalist, who was abused and threatened by Munshi also the incident brought to the notice of IGP Jammu Anand Jain, who is also Director ACB J&K, Jain, and the DGP J&K RR Swain. “I took up the matter with many senior officers of the department so that such incidents in the future could be avoided and the image of the Police department could improve. Behavior of the Police official heart me, I could not sleep that night”, he added.
“An enquiry has been ordered to enquire about the allegations”, SSP Jammu Dr Vinod told The Hidden News. Meanwhile, DyIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shakti Pathak, vide order number 307, dated 02/11/2023 reshuffled seven inspection rank officers, including SHO Kanachack, who has been shifted to Kathua district.
According to highly placed sources, Inspector, Sandeep Singh Chib, who was shifted from Kanachack to Kathua district, is likely to be posted as SHO Kathua. “A close friend of Sandeep Singh Chib, a Police inspector who has served in Kathua district is using his connection for suitable posting for his friend”, sources in Police told The Hidden News.
It is pertinent to mention here that recently an overall change took place in the Police hierarchy right from SSP Jammu, DyIG JKS Range, IGP Jammu to the incumbent J&K Police chief is known for their honesty and ethical policing.
