Addressing a media briefing at the party office today, Sahni issued a warning to the illegal mining mafia active in the Surya Putri Tawi river to refrain from this unlawful business.
Sahni revealed that upon receiving information about the alleged illegal act, a team led by him visited the grand “Har Ki Pauri” temple two days ago. He found that the flow of water in the Tawi river near “Har Ki Pauri” is being affected due to illegal mining near the river and the temple. The dryness near the stairs is hurting the religious sentiments of thousands of devotees and religious tourists visiting the site.
According to Sahni, the temple’s Mahant, Shri Mahadev Saraswati ji, is also very angry about the illegal mining near the temple. He has to spend 20-25 thousand rupees every month to divert the flow of water towards the temple with the help of a JCB machine. Additionally, the condition of the roads leading to Har Ki Pauri is deplorable. Sahni also raised questions about the deployment of only a few security personnel for the security of the temple, which is located on the outskirts of the city and on the banks of the Tawi river. Demanding complete control from the administration, Sahni warned in a stern tone, “I will not tolerate any act that hurts religious sentiments. If the illegal mining active in the Surya Putri Tawi river is not stopped, then Shiv Sainiks will take action in their own way, and during this time, the administration will be responsible for the deterioration of law and order.”
Present on this occasion were Meenakshi Chhibber, president of the party’s women’s wing, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, and Secretary Rajesh Handa.
