In a move to enhance financial services and digital banking facilities, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today inaugurated the ‘SBI e-Corner’ developed by the State Bank of India (SBI) outside the legislative assembly complex within the Civil Secretariat campus.
The ‘SBI e-Corner’ is a smart space housing Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and offering a range of products and services from the country’s largest public sector bank. This includes the provision of credit cards, opening of bank accounts, and other financial services.
During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Secretary Dulloo hailed the initiative as a welcome step towards provisioning financial services under one roof by a trusted and reputable banking institution. He expressed anticipation that more features of digital banking would be added to this point of contact in the future.
The compact ‘SBI e-Corner’ is strategically located to cater to the thousands of employees working in the twin complexes of the Civil Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly, as well as visitors to these offices. Among the facilities made available at the e-Corner is an Automatic Deposit Withdrawal Machine (ADWM) and an ATM that will provide round-the-clock cash deposit and withdrawal services. The bank authorities present during the inauguration highlighted that these facilities are synchronized with SBI’s YONO (You Only Need One) features, enabling users to conduct cash deposits and withdrawals without using a debit card at any hour of the day.
The establishment of the ‘SBI e-Corner’ within the Civil Secretariat campus is expected to enhance the convenience and accessibility of financial services for government employees and visitors, further promoting digital banking and financial inclusion in the region.
