Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan today emphasized the pivotal role of technology in driving the Revolution in Military Affairs.
Addressing a gathering of scientists and engineers from the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) on the occasion of National Technology Day, he underscored the need for integrating current technologies and investing in future emerging technologies.
Gen Chauhan inaugurated a two-day thematic program titled ‘Atoms for Society: Securing Water, Food & Health’ at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai. In his address, he highlighted the theme’s significance in showcasing the crucial role of science and technology in addressing society’s most pressing challenges.
The CDS paid tribute to India’s rich heritage in science and technology, urging a revival of the imaginative spirit to realize the technologies essential for national security. He stated that National Technology Day is an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable advancements made in these fields, which have shaped the nation’s progress, and to recognize the tireless efforts of scientists, engineers, and innovators who work relentlessly to propel the country forward.
Gen Chauhan commended the DAE for its unwavering commitment to advancing science and technology for the betterment of the nation. He extended his warmest wishes to the DAE and its members on National Technology Day, expressing hope that their efforts would continue as India marches forward on the path of progress and innovation.
