Fulfilling his commitment with the family of the Cop who subjected to ‘custodial torture’ in Poonch Police Station, the new district Police Chief, today shifted SHO Poonch, Ranjit Singh and PSI Arun Singh to district Police Line (DPL).
SSP Poonch vide order number 278 of 2023, dated 08/06/2023 reshuffled one inspector and 16 PSIs.
“Inspector Mohd Javid of P/S Poonch, will function as incharge P/S Poonch till further order”, the order reads. It is pertinent, as the issue of alleged custodial torture came into light, the new SSP Poonch, Vinay Sharma, called a meeting with family members of the victim cop and assured strict legal action.
