In an exclusive interview with The Hidden News, Mufti Inayatullah Qasmi, the Imam of Jama Masjid Talab Khatikan, emphasized the values of peace, brotherhood, and cleanliness on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Adha.
Extending his warmest wishes to the Muslim community, Mufti Inayatullah Qasmi reminded the faithful that sacrificing an animal (Qurbani) is mandatory for those who possess the means. He shed light on the importance of Eid ul Adha and the mandatory norms that Muslims must follow during the sacrifice.
“Islam gives priority to cleanliness, and it must be maintained at all costs,” Mufti Inayatullah Qasmi vehemently urged the Muslim fraternity. He emphasized that the hides and offal of sacrificial animals should be buried and not thrown into drains, as this can lead to blockages. Mufti Qasmi stressed that the sacrificial animals are considered holy, and their remains must be treated with respect and buried.
Highlighting the spirit of Eid, Mufti Inayatullah Qasmi said, “On Eid, we wish each other and exchange sweets, and we also visit the homes of our loved ones to celebrate our Holy festival. This is what our Islam teaches us – to spread love, peace, and brotherhood among different sections of society.”
In Jammu, a region known for its tradition of brotherhood, people of different castes, creeds, and colors live together harmoniously, be it Hindus, Muslims, or Sikhs. Mufti Qasmi underscored the need to strengthen the bonds of love and ethos among different communities, which is crucial in light of the attempts by miscreants to vitiate the communal harmony in the peaceful region of Jammu.
Appreciating the administration’s efforts, Mufti Inayatullah Qasmi categorically stated, “For maintaining peace in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, we make a sympathetic and passionate appeal to the administration. We are thankful to the administration for foiling the nefarious designs of miscreants who left no stone unturned to vitiate the communal harmony of Jammu. We repose our trust and hope that the administration will remain steadfast in its proactive approach to defeat the miscreants in their nefarious designs.”
Mufti Inayatullah Qasmi also expressed his satisfaction with the preparations and arrangements made by the Auqaf department, under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner. He commended all departments, including the police, traffic, PDD, and JMC, for discharging their duties with utmost dedication and devotion.
Concluding his remarks, Mufti Inayatullah Qasmi prayed for peace, love, and brotherhood to prevail throughout the world, especially in the country.
