“Service before self is the call of the time. All have some personal and family problems but when we refuse to work where our services are required we make the institutions & public suffer especially those in periphery & remote areas. Any non-compliance will invite action”, Principal Secretary, GAD-HME J&K Govt, Manoj Dwivedi
J&K government today cancelled all attachment orders of doctors and paramedical staffs and directed all concerned DDOs not to draw the salary of any doctors and paramedics attached in their jurisdictions.
“With a view to ensure better health care facilities to the general public and to restore the healthcare facilities in the rural areas, all the attachment of Doctors/Paramedics which have been made by all the Head of the Departments including Chief Medical Officers, ADMOs and Block Medical Officers or any other officer at their own level from time to time are hereby cancelled with immediate effect and they shall report back to their original place of postings”, circular No.53-JK (HME) of 2022, dated 29/ 07/2022 read. The circular further read that the concerned Head of the Departments are directed to submit compliance report in this regard latest by 1st August, 2022, without any fail. Besides, all the concerned DDOs are also directed not to draw the salary of any doctors/paramedics attached in their jurisdiction, henceforth.
Dwivedi has taken much needed steps, but implementation of this order would a tough challenge, as not only doctors and paramedic but thousands of NHM workers in past have managed their attachments, and sitting at same place, the centers where, these NHM workers were posted remained closed during COVID Pandemic, though media highlighted this issue with prominence and hundreds of news reports were surfaced, but administrative department watched it as mute spectator, now the new boss is trying to bring reforms in rotten health system of JK UT, hope the filed functionary at Blocks and districts would let the circular succumbed before nepotism and favoritism.
