ACB Books Engineer in Corruption, Disproportionate Assets Case

The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have registered a case against, a Junior Engineer (JE) in the Jal Shakti Department, Division Poonch, on charges of corruption.

The charges stem from a verification process conducted by the ACB, which allegedly uncovered evidence of Dil Pazeer, JE presently posted Jal Shakti Department, Division Poonchc, accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The investigation revealed several valuable properties reportedly owned by Pazeer and his family members, including:

• Three houses near Government PG College Kheora, Rajouri, with an estimated market value in crores of rupees.
• A double-story house on plot No. 10N in Gujjar Colony, Sunjwan, Jammu, valued in lakhs of rupees.
• A 2022 Scorpio S-11 vehicle (registration number JK11F-5433), registered on April 12, 2022.

The ACB claims that Pazeer resident of Dodasan Bala, has allegedly enriched himself through illicit means and corrupt practices. These actions are believed to constitute an offense under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Following the case registration, the ACB, assisted by local police and in the presence of magistrates and independent witnesses, conducted simultaneous searches at Pazeer’s premises in Jammu and Rajouri districts. The bureau has stated that a thorough examination of the seized records will be carried out as the investigation progresses. This case highlights the ongoing efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau to combat corruption within government departments and ensure accountability among public servants.
