Emphasizes on Case Disposal and Preventive Measures
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Jammu Zone, Anand Jain today conducted a comprehensive crime review meeting at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office (DPO) Samba. The meeting, attended by a host of law enforcement officials including Additional SP Samba, ASP SDPO Mukand Tibrewal, Supervisory Officers, Station House Officers (SHOs), and Incharge Police Posts, aimed at assessing the prevailing crime scenario and strategizing for enhanced law enforcement measures.
SSP Samba Vinay Kumar extended a warm welcome to ADGP Jammu on behalf of the District Police Samba and initiated the proceedings by presenting a detailed analysis of crime data through a presentation.
The review session commenced with a meticulous examination of crime statistics on a police station level, focusing primarily on the expeditious disposal of pending cases. ADGP Jammu emphasized the need for prompt resolution of cases registered in the current year as well as those pending from previous years. Supervisory Officers and Investigating Officers received comprehensive directives aimed at enhancing the quality of investigations and expediting the closure of pending cases.
Special attention was given to serious criminal offenses, thefts, burglaries, and narcotic-related cases, with directives issued to intensify efforts in their investigation and resolution. Detailed discussions were held regarding cases falling under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with a specific focus on unraveling the intricate networks involved and bolstering conviction rates.
Furthermore, deliberations were conducted on curbing bovine smuggling activities, alongside emphasizing proactive measures to apprehend absconders and trace missing individuals. ADGP Jammu stressed the importance of conducting regular crime meetings between supervisory officers and investigating personnel to ensure seamless investigations leading to conclusive outcomes. Additionally, instructions were provided to enhance the efficiency of the Police Beat System for improved policing.
Post the meeting, ADGP Jammu conducted an inspection of the recently established Cyber Cell and NAFIS lab at the DPO Samba, assessing their operational efficacy. He also visited the CCTNS labs at various levels of command within the district, including those at SSP Samba, Additional SP Samba, and DySP Headquarters Samba, to gain insights into their functioning. Additionally, a visit to Police Station Samba facilitated a review of operational aspects such as Roznamcha maintenance, CCTNS lab operations, Malkhana management, and the functioning of the Women Cell. The visit and subsequent review underscored the commitment of law enforcement authorities toward ensuring a robust crime control mechanism and enhancing public safety within the Samba district.
