Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, visited Rajouri and Poonch districts today to review the security preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He held meetings with officers from the police, army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to assess the readiness for conducting safe and secure parliamentary elections. Accompanied by the DIG Rajouri Poonch Range and SSP Poonch, the ADGP undertook an area familiarization exercise from Bhimber Gali to Rajouri via Manjakote. This exercise aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the terrain and strategic points, enabling enhanced security measures in the region.
In a significant security meeting at the DPL Conference Hall in Rajouri, the ADGP sought inputs from officers on various planned projects to ensure smooth elections. Emphasis was placed on area domination by police and security forces during the election period. Jain stressed the importance of implementing foolproof plans for securing candidates and polling booths, considering the sensitivity of certain areas.
The ADGP Jammu underscored the need for peaceful and violence-free elections, calling for coordination and synergy among all forces on the ground to ensure free and fair polls. The meeting was attended by the DIG RP Range, DIG CRPF, SSP Rajouri, Additional SP Rajouri, all SDPOs, and DySP Operations, including nodal officers of CAPFs and the Army. Paying homage to the martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the ADGP Jammu paid heartfelt tributes at the Martyrs Memorial at District Police Lines (DPL) Rajouri. The solemn ceremony honored the sacrifices of brave officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
