Punish guilty, but not scrapped selection list says aggrieved and dejected aspirants.

By Mohd Irfan

First, the Sub Inspector’s selection was scrapped by the government as the inquiry committee found irregularities’ following outcry and anger by the left-out aspirants from the written exam conducted by the Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB), now voices gaining momentum from the left-out aspirants of Finance Account Assistant (FAA) of alleging scam and fraud in the selection process.

Though, the case of JK PSI recruitment scam has been handed over to the CBI by Lt. Guv. Manoj Sinha for independent inquiry, name of undisclosed journalist and a retired CRPF personnel has been taking round in different media reports, since the day one when results were declared, since the case has been handed over to the CBI, big fishes including government officers likely to surface in the days to come.

Those aspirants whose make in the selection list stage sit in on roads in Jammu and Kashmir demanding that the selection list be made public. Scores of aspirants turned emotional during protests and demanding the LG’s administration as in this cut throat competition very herculean task to get absorb in the government Jobs. From the grace of almighty when we get selected now and even our parents heave of sigh of relief that we become independent meaning there by dependent on our own feet but given the chorus goes shriller for scrapping of the list caught in a fix now as what will happened to our career. If the same way the Sub Inspectors list cancelled by the government if the list of the FAA also gets cancelled then it would spell doom for us not less than that, protesting aspirants rued while opposing the move of the government for scrapping of the FAA list.

Premier recruitment agency of Union Territory of the Jammu and Kashmir, JKSSB which conducted the exams of Non Gazetted posts has come under severe criticism from the different quarters for miserably failed to ensure accountability and transparency in the recently conducted exam of the Sub inspectors which has been scrapped by the government after LG order probe following the thunderous protests by the aggrieved aspirants who accused the JKSSB of mass scale nepotism and favouritism in the selection list.

Now, the fate of the FAA aspirants is hanging in balance as they termed that they got selected on the basis of merit and there is no loopholes and irregularities in the selection list. Now the moot question arises for sympathetic consideration government in question who otherwise beaten the trumpet of transparency and accountability in the government selections but alas! Their very claims vanish in thin air. Credibility of the recruitment agency has been mocked due to the alleged favouritism in the selection lists. It has to be seen as what the JKSSB do as the selections in the FAA also came under scanner as the exam was conducted by the agency from outside which was not that efficient and competent to conduct the same, sources disclosed.

It is worth-while to mention here in that during the successive regimes of the erstwhile state selection processes of the different posts viz gazetted and non-gazetted was not scrapped the way now the JKP SI list was cancelled by the LG government it clearly raised eye brows over the integrity of the recruitment agency.

Already there is burgeoning unemployment across the Union territory of the Jammu and Kashmir and which is pegged an all-time increase to 18% as per the recent report published by the central government, which is alarming situation for the ruling government as how to dealt with the same. Experts opined that given the hue and cry by the left-out aspirants this has given a big jolt to the ruling government that under their regime the recruitment agency marred by the controversies one by another and exams which are conducted by them came under scanner which is befuddling and baffling on the part of the government. LG require to build confidence amongst the unemployed youths who are grappling with the unemployment that those who are deserving and meritorious they be absorbed in the government jobs rather than adopting the policy of the blue-eyed boys by selecting those same families which have filled the coffers of the top officials of the departments coupled with the ruling leaders also. Startling revelations revealed that it has come to the notice rather the rumour mills doing the rounds that money has done the trick in the selections of the FAA as those who able to cough up the money in lakhs they able to make it to the selections but those even burnt midnight oil they could not able to get their names in the selection list because they don’t bribe the higher ups alleges left out aspirants.
