Alleging irregularities in the functioning of the Muslim Specified Wakfs and Specified Properties (MSWSP), the stakeholders have urged upon the Chairperson of Waqf Board, Darakshan Andrabi to constitute an independent commission to unearth the alleged scams taken place in last few years.

Some aspirants for the post of academic arrangements makes by the MSWSP every year, smells a fish, and alleged that in the recently conducted selection process, the deserving candidate lost opportunity over nepotism in the MSWSP in Kashmir. “We came to know that the blue-eyed candidates were picked-up, while your capability have been ignored, now we have an honest person as Chairperson of Waqf Board in J&K, so we appeal Darakshan Andrabi madam do some need in the interest of the Waqf Board”, said the candidate who did not find place in the selection list for academic arrangements. They further said that a large number of backdoor appointments have been done by the incumbent administration of the Board. “It is also talk of town; under patronage of incumbent administration a number of backdoor appointments have been made. This is a blot on all of us, we want raise our voice”, they said, adding that they firmly believed in PM Modi’s words “Na Khaunga, Na Khane Dunga”, but unfortunately, some blacksheeps are making it happen. “Not only backdoor appointments, even official vehicles of the Boards are being misused by the officers. A top officer of board in Kashmir, have grabbed two vehicles, one for his family and another being used for official works”, they said. The whistle-blowers said they hope that the new Chairperson Darakshan Andrabi would recover a single penny of Board money, misused in the past of officers.
