The annual Amarnath Yatra, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages, is witnessing an overwhelming response with a record 2.38 lakh pilgrims registering themselves within the first 20 days of the registration process commencing on April 15.
As per official sources, the staggering number of registrations has been facilitated through both offline and online modes, reflecting the unwavering devotion of devotees from across the country towards the sacred Amarnath cave shrine in Kashmir.
The 52-day Yatra is scheduled to commence on June 29 and culminate on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan on August 19, providing ample opportunity for pilgrims to undertake the spiritual journey.
Adding to the anticipation, the first glimpse of the revered Amarnath ‘Lingam’ (ice-stalagmite formation) has already surfaced on social media platforms, offering a tantalizing preview of the natural wonder that awaits the devotees. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hassle-free experience for the pilgrims, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) is leaving no stone unturned in its preparations. The board is set to introduce an online helicopter booking service, facilitating convenient travel options for devotees to reach the Cave Shrine.
At the Jammu-based Yatri Niwas and other Yatra establishments, work is in full swing to provide top-notch facilities and services to the pilgrims. From accommodation to medical assistance and security arrangements, every aspect is being meticulously planned to ensure a safe and memorable journey for the devotees.
