Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the opposition, the people of Jammu and Kashmir would soon close down Rahul Gandhi’s Mohabbat Ki Dukan.
Seeking vote for BJP J&K Unit chief and former MLA Ravinder Raina, at Nowshera on Sunday, Shah declared that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would soon close down Rahul Gandhi’s “Mohabbat Ki Dukan” (Shop of Love), accusing it of sympathizing with terrorism.
Shah announced the BJP’s plans to release a white paper on terrorism, promising to expose those responsible for bringing terrorism to the valley and their alleged associations with terrorists. In a direct challenge to opposition narratives, he asserted, “No one has the courage to change the name of ‘Shankaracharya Mountain’…this mountain will be known by the name of Shankaracharya ji for ages.”
The Home Minister also took aim at National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, stating emphatically, “No matter how much Farooq Abdullah tries, no other flag will fly in Jammu and Kashmir, only the tricolour will fly.” This statement reaffirms the BJP’s stance on the region’s integration with India following the abrogation of Article 370.
Shah expressed confidence in the BJP’s support base in Nowshera, claiming that the local population stands behind the party’s mission to eradicate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir.
Amit Shah asserted that talks with Pakistan would not occur without eradicating terrorism from Indian soil. He emphasized, “Let me be clear: we will not engage in dialogue with Pakistan until terrorism is eliminated. The Opposition wants to resume trade at the LoC and release stone-pelters… The BJP assures you, no terrorist will walk free in Jammu and Kashmir!”.
The rally, which drew a significant crowd, showcased the BJP’s electoral strategy of combining nationalist rhetoric with promises of development and security.
