On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated E-Bus Services for the Jammu Smart City project. The launch event also featured the distribution of appointment letters to 209 candidates selected from Jammu and Kashmir through Combined Competitive Exams, alongside the release of 885 compassionate appointment letters.
The introduction of E-Bus Services marks a significant milestone in the development of smart mobility infrastructure in Jammu and its surrounding areas. This initiative is expected to enhance transportation efficiency while contributing to an improved quality of life for residents.
Expressing gratitude for Amit Shah’s unwavering commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha highlighted the transformative impact of the newly launched E-Bus Services. He emphasized the administration’s dedication to ensuring dignified lives for the families of martyrs and hardworking employees, as evidenced by the issuance of compassionate appointment letters.
Furthermore, Lieutenant Governor Sinha underscored the UT Administration’s focus on socio-economic empowerment, particularly among the youth. He praised the recent distribution of entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities to nearly 95,000 youth, highlighting the transparent recruitment processes that have facilitated over 31,000 appointments since August 2019.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Lieutenant Governor Sinha reiterated the administration’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Union Minister for Heavy Industries; Members of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and Er. Gulam Ali Khatana; Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla; and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, along with senior officials from the Government of India and the UT Administration. The inauguration of E-Bus Services and the distribution of appointment letters signify a significant step towards enhancing transportation infrastructure and promoting employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir.
