SSP Vinay Sharma: Operation Signifies Commitment to Law Enforcement in Samba District
In a decisive move to uphold the rule of law and combat illegal activities, the administration of Samba, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and SSP Samba, Vinay Sharma, executed a targeted operation aimed at addressing drug-related offenses and reclaiming state-owned land from encroachment.
“The successful operation reflects our unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order within the district,” stated Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma. “We are dedicated to rooting out criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of our citizens.”
The operation, meticulously planned and executed in Birpur village, resulted in the demolition of an illegally constructed structure spanning one kanal and 12 marla of state land. The demolition was carried out by a specialized team comprising ADC Samba Suresh Chander, SDPO Baribrahmana Mukund Tibrewal, SDM Vijaypur Umesh, Tehsildar Baribrahmana Punica, and SHO Baribrahmana, in collaboration with local law enforcement personnel.
“This operation signifies a significant breakthrough in our ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes,” remarked SSP Samba Vinay Sharma. “We will continue to work tirelessly to dismantle criminal networks and safeguard our communities.”
The operation also led to the apprehension of a notorious individual identified as Kapil Sharma alias Jimmy, hailing from Chaudahi, Sainik Colony, Jammu. Sharma had been evading justice amidst a slew of serious allegations, including drug trafficking, violence, illegal confinement, and fraudulent activities under the guise of operating a drug rehabilitation center in Birpur, Bari Brahmana.
“The arrest of Kapil Sharma marks a pivotal moment in our fight against drug-related offenses,” stated a spokesperson from the administration. “We will pursue legal action against individuals involved in criminal activities, ensuring that justice is served.”
Sharma’s arrest, executed under Case FIR No. 11/2024 at Bari Brahmana Police Station earlier this month, underscores the administration’s firm resolve to tackle criminal elements within society. With a criminal record spanning 17 FIRs across Jammu and Samba districts, Sharma’s detention under the provisions of the Public Safety Act (PSA) emphasizes the administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and order.
The successful outcome of the operation serves as a testament to the dedication of the district administration and law enforcement agencies to upholding the rule of law and combating illegal activities. It sends a clear message that those engaged in criminal endeavors, including drug trafficking and land encroachment, will face stringent action under the law.
