The Jammu bandh call given by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) evoked mixed response today as reportedly in some areas, shops were opened coupled with in city areas of Jammu markets remained closed. Due to no support extended by the Transport department to the Bar Association Jammu bandh call, public transport seen ply on the road in some areas of Jammu but in Majority of the areas transport of the roads.
Bar Association started their protest from Court Road in the morning after burnt the tyres against the administration for their failure to conceded their genuine demands amidst Sloganeering by the lawyer’s fraternity Bar Association Zindabad. Lawyers seen passing through different areas of Jammu and markets and urged the public to observed Complete Jammu bandh which is for the beneficial for the litigants as well as for the Lawyers also. Lawyers seen assembled in a Tata Mobile vehicle and standing on the same to make Jammu bandh successful.
“It’s after all several years now that Jammu bandh occurred following Bar Association call prior it happened when after the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35- A once only. Circumstances exist so thats the reason Bar Association has to gave call for Jammu bandh”A group of Lawyers wishing anonymity rued adding, due to the administrative apathy we are constrained to adopt Agitational path given the compelling circumstances as we raise hue and cry still the government did not do the needful in terms of fulfill our genuine demands of housing all Courts in Multi story complex in Janipur. For the last more then one month we are on roads and urged the administration to accept our demands but to no avail which shows the dictatorial attitude of the government not less then that and our plea falls on deaf ears of the government “they lamented.
” The way public supported us it shows that public also favoured us after all they accepted that the demands of the lawyer’s fraternity are genuine and that demands of housing of all courts would be really beneficial to all”they vociferously asserted. When asked that Transport still plied on the roads despite Jammu bandh call, Lawyers said As you know even before independence some of the indians used to picked up the sleepers of the britishers for their own vested interest and for them atrocities and injustice nothing matter to them as such on the same analogy these transporters are working who are puppet in the hands of the government apparently as they not fully supported the Jammu bandh call rather it’s important for them to support us that is for their betterment also”he maintained.
“Much water has flown down the river tawi since these lawyers are on strike but till date administration not came forward to acceded to their request of conceding their demands which questioned the move of the government which otherwise talks of sabka saath sabka vikaas, sabka vishwas as this infamous slogan of ruling government mere rhetoric to fulfilled their nefarious designs “One of the Social Activist while turning tables against the government which not coming forward to accept the demands of the lawyers which are for the benefits of the litigants also but the government administration adamant attitude resultant there in wheels of Justice comes to a grinding halt and now it has to be seen as to how much does the government takes in conceding the genuine demands of the Lawyers fraternity.
One of the Advocate took a dig against the ruling party Twenty five MLAs that it’s their blunder due to which we lawyer’s fraternity facing the onslaught and not due to the administration we are facing the piquant situation. We Dogras elected these twenty five MLAs with a hope that they will ensure justice to us but they miserably failed to do so rather not comes to our expectations adding, these MLAs enjoying cozy environment with ACs rooms coupled with lavish life style resultant we lawyer’s have been left to fend for themselves which is really condemnable and we can’t tolerated this lackluster approach on the part of the these ruling party twenty five MLAs and today we just give them the warning and in the days to come if genuine demands not met then further intensify our protests “he lambasted the BJP MLAs that they forget as to what their duty is after being elected rather their shirk from their duties for which they would pay a price in the ensuing elections.
Visuals emerged on the social media depicted that Bar Association members while passing through the different Rotaries of Jammu enforced Jammu bandh by urged the Public through loudspeakers to closed their establishments because today is Jammu bandh. Public Transport which is plied in some parts of Jammu made request by the Bar members to stop plying from the same that as you know about the Jammu bandh call and you defy the Call which is not good rather Bar Members reiterated from the vehicle atop through loudspeakers to made Jammu bandh so that message be go loud and clear about the resentment of the Lawyer’s fraternity as well as the Public against the government failure to fulfilled the genuine demands of the Lawyer’s fraternity who are on roads by affecting their works since more then one month.
On being asked by the Media that public transport still ply on the roads, Advocates said as you know that some agents in the government intends to foiled our Jammu bandh call coupled with also hit out against the LGs administration that they failed to fulfilled our demands. Even also fired salvo against the Transporter president for having vested interest with the government due to which not supported the Jammu bandh call otherwise this Jammu bandh call is necessary given the genuine demands of lawyer’s fraternity and today whole Jammu bandh due to the support extended by the different organizations”they rued.
Reports pouring in from the different districts revealed that different sisters bar Associations supported the Bar Association Jammu bandh call and they also staged protest in their respective districts against the government for not conceding lawyer’s demands. It is pertinent to mention here in that Bar Association Jammu yesterday called upon the Chief Justice at his residence and take up the matter of their demands. CJ after given patient hearing to the grievances of the lawyers assured that he would talk with the LG in regards to their genuine demands. Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association extended their gratitude to chamber of commerce, different political organizations, social organizations who supported the Jammu bandh call.
