“Better late than never”, this phrase on Monday afternoon, the 55th day of ongoing agitation of all Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Posted in Kashmir, gave expected results, when Lt. Governor, JK UT Manoj Sinha announced constitution of a high-level committee, headed by Principal Secretary, General Administration Department to examine long pending demand of transfer policy.
The Committee constituted by the Government would submit its recommendation in a time bound manner. Thousands of employees from Jammu division, SC and ST categories are posted in all ten districts Kashmir valley, but after recent target killings in valley in which a school Rajni Bala was also killed by the terrorists, all the non-muslim employees including Kashmiri Pandits and SC returned Jammu and started an agitation on June 1, 2022 seeking their security, and a transfer policy.
The SC employees were demanding formation of a comprehensive time bound transfer policy, utilization of services of employees in their respective districts and not to pressurize the Jammu based employees to resume their duties under prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley.
The Employees of SC community were serving in valley for decades, but no body bother to listen them, but sacrifice of School Teacher, Rajni Bala, forced government to consider, the safety of these employees. Finally, the LG Administration gave its go-ahead to the demands of reserved category employees. It is pertinent to mention here that the LG Manoj Sinha had visited family of Teacher Rajni Bala, and expressed his condolence, and ordered transfer of Rajni Bala’s husband in Samba district.
But, today announcement made by LG is like to dream comes true for the community.
