Bhim Sen Tuti, a senior IPS officer of the 2004 batch from the Jammu and Kashmir cadre, assumed charge as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Jammu Zone today.
He succeeds Anand Jain, IPS, who previously held the position as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone.
Prior to this prestigious assignment, Bhim Sen Tuti held several key positions in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. His career includes postings as SDPO East Jammu, Additional SP Sopore, SP Leh, SP Kishtwar, DIG JSK Range (twice), DIG DKR Range, and IGP Headquarters/POS at the Police Headquarters J&K. Additionally, he has served on deputation to Jharkhand and the Union Territory of Ladakh as SP and DIG, further strengthening his professional portfolio.
Upon his arrival at the Zonal Police Headquarters in Jammu, IGP Tuti was accorded a warm welcome by DIG JSK Range, Shiv Kumar, IPS, along with senior officers from the Jammu district. The outgoing ADGP, Anand Jain, provided him with a detailed briefing on the security landscape of Jammu Zone, covering aspects of crime, militancy, and law and order challenges.
To mark the transition, an introductory meeting was conducted where the new IGP interacted with officers of ZPHQ Jammu. During the session, he emphasized the importance of addressing emerging security concerns and strategizing to maintain law and order in the region.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu Zone, organized a farewell ceremony to honor the outgoing ADGP, Anand Jain, IPS. Senior officials and staff members gathered to bid him a heartfelt farewell, acknowledging his contributions and leadership during his tenure.
