Religious festivals of both communities Hindus’ Chari Yatra from Poonch to Buddha Amarnath (Mandi) and Ashoora of Shia Muslim from other parts of district concluded peacefully, amidst the Swami Vishwamatanand Saraswati’s guidance of maintaining people and brotherhood.
However, the district administration, the Police department played a major role, for the success of two religious’ events at same place and same day. Earlier, on Monday through media, Swami Vishwamatanand Saraswati praised the Muslim community and wished peaceful conclusion of the both religious events fall on same day. The district administration taking seriously Swami’s advice made adequate arrangements on the eve of Chari Yatra as well as Ashoora. Even the people of Poonch also followed the way of peace.
It is out of place to mention here in that yesterday Swami Vishwamatanand asked his disciples and Muslim community to maintain cordial relationship and directed the district administration to foiled the evil designs of the anti-social elements who leaves no stone unturned on the eve of festivals to vitiated the communal harmony. The message of Swami was loud and clear that thwarted the attempts of the miscreants on the eve of these festivals.
As there remains the apprehension of creating law and order problem in Poonch given the both the festivals of both the communities together as such it was tough task for the administration to ensure the violent free celebration of the festivals, but the administration achieved this target. DyIG Rajouri-Poonch Ranage Dr Haseeb Mughal, Deputy Commission, Poonch Inderjeet Kumar, SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra, held meetings with community leaders for these peaceful culminations of this annual religious programmes. DyIG Dr Haseeb, has been camping in Poonch town since Monday, and keeping visiting Poonch town and the Mandi, where Budha Amarnath temple is situated.
