Attaching the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kathua, the Government has ordered inquiry into dismantling of a commercial building in Kathua town.
“Pending inquiry, Santosh Kotwal , CEO Kathua Municipal Council is attached in office of Director Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) Jammu with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Jodh Raj Executive Officer (EO), Municipal Committee (MC) Ramgarh will look after additional Charge of MC Kathua till further order”, Govt order number DULB/2023/1329-37, dated 05/06/2023 reads.
A three member fact finding committee head by Law Officer was constituted by the directorate after public anger. “In view of reports published/circulated in social media regarding demolition of a building at ward no.6 Kathua and law and order issue arisen. It is hereby ordered that a committee headed by Sr Law Officer Waseem Shoket Butt, Amit Sharma EO, MC Reasi, and Rajat Abrol EO, MC Katra as member constituted to conduct a fact finding enquiry into the matter to ascertain the veracity of facts regarding the procedure followed in related case by the MC, Kathua. The committee shall submit report to this directorate within 10 days with all related papers regarding the case”, the order further reads.
