In a proactive move to ensure the safety and well-being of students during transportation, District Collector Sachin Kumar Vaishya convened a crucial meeting with principals of various schools operating within the district.
The primary focus of the discussion was to address concerns and outline measures to safeguard children during their commute to and from educational institutions.
During the meeting, the District Collector emphasized that the safety of children is the topmost priority for the district administration. He issued a stern warning that any unauthorized or unsafe transportation of students would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Additionally, Vaishya cautioned parents that they would be held equally responsible in the event of any mishaps occurring due to overcrowding in privately hired vehicles. The principals present at the meeting shared their perspectives regarding the use of school buses and other private transportation services hired by parents. Constructive discussions took place to explore viable solutions and best practices for ensuring the secure transit of students.
One of the key decisions taken during the meeting was the deployment of Road Transport Department and Traffic Police officials to monitor school buses and other private vehicles employed for student transportation. The District Collector assured regular and consistent monitoring of these vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Furthermore, the principals were urged to raise awareness among parents about the paramount importance of safe transportation and to explore alternative methods to provide secure and reliable transportation options for students.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including ADC Ansuya Jamwal, ADC Shishir Gupta, SSP Traffic City Faisal Qureshi, ARTO, and other concerned officers, underscoring the collaborative effort being undertaken to address this critical issue.
The district administration’s proactive approach to prioritizing student safety during transportation reflects its commitment to creating a secure environment for the region’s youth. By fostering cooperation between schools, parents, and relevant authorities, the district aims to implement comprehensive measures to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of students during their daily commutes.
