Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister Manjit Singh today said that an elected Govt is the only solution to end the suffering of the people as the bureaucracy is deliberately delay developmental works which has given rise to the feeling of alienation among the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the last three years.

Manjit Singh was speaking at a joining programme organized at Udhampur by the Ex-MLA Faqir Nath and District President Udhampur Hans Raj Dogra. Welcoming them into the party, Manjit Singh said that Apni Party believes in the development of all the regions, districts, tehsils and villages equally and there should be no place for inequality and underdevelopment. The Former Minister said that the Govt has not been able to deliver on the ground especially in rural areas as they have remained neglected with regard to development from the last three years. “This is happening because the bureaucracy is doing nothing on ground and it has developed a feeling of alienation among the people from the Govt and its policies which are not reaching to the rural belt in particular,” he said. He alleged the disappointment among the people is growing and it can be handled only when elections are held. “The people are angry after the downgrading of J&K State into a Union Territory. The Govt must restore statehood as early as possible without delaying it further before holding assembly polls,” he said. He said that an elected Govt is responsible to the people and the bureaucracy should be held accountable towards the public service which is possible when there is an elected Govt. Speaking on the occasion, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath highlighted various developmental issues and condition of Scheduled Caste community’s localities. He said that the authorities have not been able to provide development at the doorstep, and people are complaining about the basic amenities. Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta while speaking on the occasion urged the Govt of India to accept all long pending demands of the farmers who are protesting from last one year. “These farmers represent different states from across the country and hence, their demands should be accepted including fixing of MSP etc., so that the yearlong protest demonstration can end,” he said. District President, Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra also spoke on the occasion and discussed organizational issues of the Apni Party and strengthening of the Party. He said that the people in Udhampur district mostly remain in villages and these villages are deprived of health, education and development even as many times these issues were highlighted before the authorities. Meanwhile, SC State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat also spoke on the occasion and highlighted issues of the Schedule Caste Community in Udhampur especially referring to their social issues.
