In anticipation of the upcoming Eid, Navratras, and Baisakhi festivals, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a crucial high-level meeting today to assess the preparedness of concerned departments and agencies.

The meeting, held to ensure the smooth conduct of festivities, witnessed the presence of key officials including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP RR Swain, ADGP Vijay Kumar, ADGP Jammu Anand Jain, Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and senior officers of Civil and Police administration.

During the meeting, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of making comprehensive arrangements in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Election Commission of India (ECI). He urged the District Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to personally visit prominent holy places and take all necessary measures to ensure the seamless conduct of the festivals.

Charing the meeting, Lt Governor Sinha stressed the need for adequate security arrangements, effective traffic and crowd management, identification of parking spots, availability of essential items at government-notified rates, and the formation of teams for regular market inspections. He also highlighted the importance of uninterrupted water and power supply, provision of medical facilities, fire and emergency services, and arrangements for sanitation and cleanliness.

The directives issued by the Lt Governor underscored the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens during the festive season. With a focus on maintaining law and order and facilitating a conducive environment for celebrations, the authorities are working diligently to put all necessary arrangements in place.

As Jammu prepares to celebrate these auspicious festivals, the administration remains vigilant and proactive in its efforts to address any potential challenges and ensure that the festivities proceed smoothly. The collective efforts of the government and law enforcement agencies aim to create a secure and joyous atmosphere for residents and visitors alike during this festive period.
