Joint Action Committee Reserved Categories (JACRC) today alleged some Government Doctors of a particular community are trying to sabotage PM Modi’s Mission of SAB KA SAATH SAB KA VIKAS in JKUT.
Retirees and socio-religious groups of SC,ST,OBc in a largely attended press conference held in Guru Ravidass Gurudwara Bahu Fort, threadbare dwelt upon a recent order of Health & Medical Education department wherein an attempt has been made by government under LG to streamline ever deteriorating medical education in JKUT by adopting rotatory headship mechanism in various departments of GMCs/GDCs throughout JKUT. The leaders of JACRC blamed a lobby of few government doctors working in GMC Jammu who are sabotaging our beloved PM Narender Modi’s mission of “SAB KA SAATH SAB KA VIKAS AND SAB KA VISWAS” as well as “MAIN DALITOU KAYE SATH ANYAYE NAHIN HONYE DUNGA”.
They said that a coterie of few doctors and engineers of so called upper castes in connivance with J&K Bureaucracy and by befooling former Governor’s and present LG have almost killed reservation in promotions as well as direct recruitments. They further said that this lobby projects themselves very close to present government and workers of RSS in government set up, which is violate of service rules. They even influence office of Principal Medical College. The leaders further said that this lobby is running the roast since long and have become more proactive in recent 5 to 7 years. During 1995-2005, the Principal Medical College was Gupta and few HoDs were also from Gupta surname and the seniors of this lobby and few outsiders from a particular community used to call GMC as Gupta Medical College instead of Government Medical College. The leaders requested, LG Manoj Sinha to look into why in the seat of highest learning a particular lobby wants to make GMC a caste conflicts ground. They said that this very lobby who claims to be supporters of RSS BJP in fact are trying to sabotage mission of PM sahib, added to it is the fact that few of them are rolling stones and they change their political parties frequently to remain in good books of government in fact they spread hater and caste venom and befool the government machinery.
Prof. G.L. Thapa, while further elaborating said that today’s press conference was in response to news publicized in three main English newspapers of Jammu but none from Kashmir with caption, “Medical teachers Seeks roll back of H&ME Deptt order: Appointment of HoDs on rotational basis createsfuror among faculty members in GMCs in Jammu, Srinagar” . He said that JAC (RC) is neither in support or against this order but the way this has been projected in a particular newspaper from the pen of a correspondent of a particular caste is condemnable. The same correspondent is in the habit of spiting venom against people of reserved categories in the past also. We warn that if he don’t desists from his casteist mind-set we will take appropriate action as warranted including ghearo of that particular newspaper. Mohinder Bhagat; while addressing the media added that this particular newspaper correspondent have attempted to malign reserved categories, have tried to spread hater within JKUT amongst different castes by penning down unconfirmed story on directions of his friend sitting in GMC Jammu. He said that there are 25 departments in GMC Jammu and its associated hospitals and from amongst these 19 departments are directly affected. But this casteist correspondent has picked only 08 departments and from these 08, he has wrongly picked 01 department (ENT). Fact of the matter is that by this order the HoDShip tenure of reserved categories have been reduced to only two years whereas prior to this order in all the mentioned departments by this correspondents the tenure of reserved categories senior faculty could have been 4 years to 10 years. The greater loss have been inflicted on reserved categories by this order, as for example (Cardiology) could have remained HoD for 07 years at a stretch, whereas; immediate replacement of (HoD/ENT) is (Ex-HOD, ENT) and of (Ex-HoD Urology) and not (ENT) which have been wrongly and deliberately quoted by the said correspondent to further create “MASALA” in his script writing, it looks as if he is writing story of a thriller movie. Why this correspondent has picked only 07 departments and not the rest of 12 is well understood. He further said that this creates unnecessary ill will within Hindu fold in Jammu and Kashmir where so called upper caste Hindus are a micro minority and their survival is on the strength of Hindu SCBCs. This type of false propaganda through the media can further create a wedge and unrest. So this correspondent should be booked under relevant provisions of law.
Sham Basson; said that a particular caste lobby in GMC Jammu does not digest any person from reserved category taking over the reins of institutional head or HoD of a department, for that matter even any other caste from the so called upper castes. Even while holding elections of Medical Teachers Organizations a few years back they throw such filth and spoiled atmosphere of this highest seat of learning and patient care. In 2020, when a senior Professor from SC category for the first time became Principal, the same lobby in connivance with Atal Dullo (Health Commissionerat that time) humiliated SC Principal on the pretext of a single death of a Kashmiri pandit elderly lady and lack of oxygen in GMC Jammu. He was unceremoniously removed from the chair after wrong projections in the newspaper and this correspondent played a lead role with others at that time as well. Ironically, in May 2021, there were almost 450 deaths in a month and GMC Jammu looked like a crematorium but neither Atal Dulloo took any action against that Principal nor the media spoke anything against the principal including this correspondent who is publishing stories with false data. Pertinently, the correspondent and principal belonged to same caste. He said that GMC Jammu has become “ADDA OF CASTE POLITICS” nurtured by this lobby of 8 to 10 doctors of GMC Jammu in connivance with few correspondents of few newspapers. LG is requested to deal with such forces with iron hands to save the seat of highest learning and patient care from further deteriorations.
In the end all the members present in the press conference urged upon Health Secretary, Chief Secretary, LG of JKUT and also the PM of India to deal with these bad elements of the society with stern action against them, otherwise the reserved categories shall be compelled to teach them as well as all involved a good lesson political, religiously and socially. Banalia, Abdul Majid Malik, Kewal Fotra, Raj Kumar Bhagat, Sardari Lal, Romesh Kumar, Vishal Bhagat, Rakesh Attri, Manoj Kumar, Sohan Badgal, Kewal Krishan Fotra, Baldev Raj, Des Raj and others attended the Press Conference.
