In a shocking case of murder linked to online gaming addiction and debt, the Jammu Police have cracked a chilling mystery following a report of a missing person at the Chowk Chabutra police post on September 29, 2024.
Sandeep Singh, son of Sukhdev Singh, from Gali Khilona in Pacca Danga, Jammu, was reported missing after last being seen on September 29. The investigation led to the arrest of Pardeep Singh, son of Sher Singh, hailing from Prem Nagar, Jammu.
According to police reports, Pardeep Singh, deeply in debt from losses incurred in the Aviator game, allegedly lured Sandeep to Reasi under the false pretense of repaying a ₹1,30,000 loan. The situation took a horrifying turn when, on September 27, Pardeep reportedly pushed Sandeep into the Chenab River at Talwara, resulting in his death.
Police swiftly acted on Pardeep’s confession, and Sandeep’s body was recovered from the river, confirming the tragic outcome. During further investigation, officers uncovered the involvement of Rajinder Singh, another conspirator who owed Sandeep ₹25,000.
Both Pardeep and Rajinder Singh were promptly apprehended and are now facing charges under FIR No. 117/2024 U/S 140/49/103 BNS.
