The administration has failed to provide data entry operators for smooth implementation of e-services

Instead of providing, data entry operators, in each unit of the outpatient departments (OPD), the authorities of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, reportedly forced senior faculties to upload details of each patient they checked, from their own mobile phones. Moreover, the senior faculties, including Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors have already opposed the order passed by the Principal Dr Ashutosh Gupta, asking them to perform night duties.
In what could be termed as throwing the very sanctity of the noble profession of doctors posted at GMCH Jammu to the winds it has been learned that the senior doctors made to upload the details of their patients on their mobile phones which they treated upon in the prestigious GMCH, wrote social media user on his wall.
This arbitrary diktat of the authorities concerned left the senior doctors to face a precarious and piquant situation as along with treating patients in the Government medical college Hospital they too have to upload the details of the patients resulting in there takes place serpentine queues in the hospital, sources informed.
When contacted, the Principal, GMC&H Jammu Dr Ashutosh Gupta, lamented that as you know today from 4; 30 p.m. till 10 p.m. accompanied by two more heads of the departments we are monitoring the emergency wing. On being insisted that senior doctors being forced to do night duties, the Principal said to ask this scribe to visit the emergency ward and you would find senior doctors being available and then quick to add from 4:30 PM till 10 PM.
To a query, is there any order of the government which has directed the senior doctors to upload the details of patients they treated, Dr Ashutosh divulged that it’s an order of the government and we have to comply with same adding, as the government too wants the documentation from us in terms of treating patients”, he maintained.
Principal GMCH acknowledged the fact that the senior doctors have to upload the details of patients in the GMCH Jammu. He cited an example of being a Journalist if you do not carry the news then how can we come to know? So, the government likewise also wanted from us the documentation as proof of the professional duties we performed.
On being further asked if it means you are complying with the government order, Dr Ashutosh said we are complying with the order after all we have to implement it in its letter and spirit. Rather, it’s inception and later it gets refined”, he avers.
Asked you think so due to the upload of the patients’ details by the senior doctors resulted in a long serpentine queue in the Hospital, Dr. Ashutosh vehemently said admittedly queue occurs when doctors have to upload the details of patients they treated and it’s the government with whom the matter required to be taken regarding the uploading of patients details by the doctors in their mobile phones”, he lamented.
