In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Jammu District have arrested the 9th accused, who deliberately evading his arrest since the incident that occurred on 30th April.
According to a Police spokesperson, Raghunandan alias Raghu, a resident and known history-sheeter from Channi Himmat, in connection with the high-profile Greater Kailash murder case (FIR No. 39/2024 at Police Station Gangyal). The arrest comes after Raghunandan had been on the run and deliberately evading arrest since the incident that occurred on April 30, 2024.
Acting on technical and human intelligence inputs, the Jammu Police have successfully apprehended Raghunandan, who was believed to be involved in the shocking murder case. The police have also seized two luxury vehicles belonging to the accused, which were allegedly used in the commission of the crime. The total value of the seized vehicles is estimated to be more than ₹1.5 crores.
The Jammu Police have reiterated their resolve to conduct a swift, fair, and comprehensive investigation into the Greater Kailash murder case, leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice. In a related development, the City Judge of Jammu, Pooja Raina, had on Monday granted a 15-day judicial remand for Ex-SSP Sheikh Mehmood IPS, Parshtom Singh alias Nikka, Suraj Singh (son of Parshtom Singh), Sandeep Charak, Vikas Singh, Ravinder Kumar Gupta alias Gola Shah, and Rajat Jandyal (son of Ravinder Gupta), who are also accused in the high-profile case.
The court has directed that Ex-SSP Sheikh Mehmood IPS be lodged in the Kot Bhalwal Jail, while the other accused-Parshtom Singh alias Nikka, Suraj Singh, Sandeep Charak, Vikas Singh, Ravinder Kumar Gupta alias Gola Shah, and Rajat Jandyal-be lodged in the District Jail. Additionally, the court granted a four-day police remand for Sachin Singh alias Sanju, who is also allegedly involved in the Greater Kailash murder case. The Jammu Police have assured the public of their unwavering commitment to ensuring a fair and impartial investigation, leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.
