The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police today sized huge quantity of drug being transported Kashmir to Punjab, from Sidhra, Jammu and arrested two interstate smugglers.
The ANTF on specific input, apprehended two narco smugglers and recovered 600 Kg of Poppy Straw from a truck bearing registration JK03E-7773 which was on its way from Kashmir Valley to Punjab via Jammu.
On receiving an input that above mentioned truck carrying huge quantity of contraband is coming from Kashmir via Jammu, ANTF team laid Naka at NH-44, near Environmental Park Sidhra, Narwal Bye Pass, Jammu and intercepted the said truck.
On checking, 24 Plastic bags containing Poppy Straw concealed under Ply wood sheets were recovered from the said truck. Two narco smugglers were arrested from the truck who have been identified as Nasir Farooq and Mohammad Amin Rather both residents of Pampore, Pulwama.
The ANTF is investigating the forward and backward links of this consignment and more arrests are expected.
