In a significant development, the Crime Branch of the J&K Police has apprehended an individual who was posing as an Under Secretary allegedly posted at Raj Bhavan.
The suspect, identified as Firdous Ahmad Wagay, a resident of Waskora, Ganderbal, Kashmir, was taken into custody following diligent efforts by the Police Station CICE Jammu.
Upon receiving information about the impersonation, the police swiftly took action, registering a case FIR 03/2024 under relevant sections of the law. A team from the Police Station CICE Jammu conducted the operation that led to the arrest of the impersonator.
During the apprehension, law enforcement officers seized incriminating materials from Wagay’s possession, including fake ID cards, seals, and other documents believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. The arrest underscores the vigilance and proactive measures undertaken by the Jammu Police to combat fraudulent activities and maintain law and order in the region. Investigations into the case are currently ongoing as authorities work to gather further details surrounding the impersonation incident.
