An inspection drive spearheaded by Assistant Drug Controller Anantnag aimed at enforcing CCTV surveillance and computerized billing systems in medical establishments within Tehsil Bijbehara has resulted in the suspension of two pharmaceutical distributors.
Under the leadership of Assistant Drug Controller Anantnag, a team of Drug Control Officers conducted comprehensive inspections of approximately 20 medical establishments in and around Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara. The primary focus of these inspections was to verify compliance with directives mandating the installation of CCTV cameras and adoption of computerized billing systems.
The outcomes of the inspection were largely positive, with nearly all chemists found to have complied by installing CCTV cameras and implementing computerized billing systems within their premises. However, the operations of two wholesale firms, namely M/s Janisaar Enterprises Pharmaceutical Distributors Bijbehara and M/s New Iqbal Enterprises Pharmaceutical Distributors Bijbehara, were temporarily suspended due to non-compliance with the computerized billing system and other unspecified violations.
Following the inspections, stringent directives were issued to all medical establishments in the region. They were instructed to strictly adhere to guidelines concerning the implementation of computerized billing systems (CBS) and the issuance of computerized cash memos. Additionally, retailers were advised to accept invoices generated exclusively through a computerized billing system from their distributors and suppliers.
The Assistant Drug Controller stressed the significance of these measures in ensuring transparency and accountability within the pharmaceutical sector. Further actions are anticipated to be taken to guarantee full compliance with the established guidelines, with a focus on upholding the highest standards of quality and integrity in the distribution of pharmaceutical products within the region.
