The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered enquiry against an Executive Officer (EO), of a Municipal Committee (MC), in Kashmir, who reportedly insulted the National Flag, during Har Ghar Tiranga Programme concluded on the eve of 76th Independence Day.
Unfortunately, first time in the history, when majority population Kashmir was celebrating Har Ghar Tiranga, the campaign launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, some officer, followed anti national narrative by indulging to anti-India activities.
However, a preliminary enquiry ordered by the Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, into the misconduct of Syed Ajaz Manzoor the then I/c Executive officer, Municipal Committee, Magam for insulting the National Flag during the programme of Har Ghar Tiranga at Municipal Committee, Magam.
On September 20, the Government ordered a detailed enquiry in addition to the enquiry conducted by the DC Budgam. “In terms of Rule 33(4) of Jammu and Kashmir (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Haris Ahmad Handoo, Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, as an Inquiry officer who shall conduct a detailed inquiry”, Govt order no. 132-JK(HUD) of 2022 read. It was further ordered that Mohammad Rafeeq Bhat, Deputy Director (Adm), Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir appointed as Presenting Officer in the case. “The Inquiry Officer shall submit the report within a period of 15 days, from the date of issuance of this order”, the order issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department further read.
