The Narwal Police of Jammu district of J&K have detained four Burmese immigrants entered Indian side from Bangaldesh and reached Jammu on Thursday.
The arrested people have been identified as Mohd Ayob, Anayat Ul Rehman, Haseena Begum, Noor Neha and Showket Era all resident of Burma, at present residing at Karyani Talab, Jammu.
These people have been arrested under 14A of Foreigners Act 1946. “On basis of inputs that some illegal immigrants are arriving here in Jammu. The Jammu Police laid Nakas at multiple places and arrested the illegal immigrants”, a senior Police officer said, adding that the arrested persons have impersonated documents, to justify their entry into Indian side but vigil Jammu Police exposed their claims and arrested them.
“A case has been registered against six illegal immigrants, further action will be initiated as per the law”, the Police officer said, adding that it has become a routine affair for them. “Jammu has been a safer place for them, using their religion, they enter Jammu and settled here illegally, but now things are changed everybody has to prove his/her identity”, the officer said, adding that the Jammu Police arresting illegal immigrants very frequently.
