The Jammu Police today arrested a Rohingyan woman for illegal immigration in India, however, identity of the woman has been kept secret by the authorities.
According to highly placed sources, yesterday, the woman reached Jammu and acting upon inputs, the Jammu Police has detained the woman today. “She reached here without documents in violation of rules, so we have detained her”, said a senior Police officer, wishing not to be named.
“The woman came here, as she was offered a safer place to stay here, by a Rohingian, already illegally staying in Jammu. However, administration taking serious note over illegal stay of Rohingians here in Jammu and to prevent their illegal entry into Jammu in future, arrested the woman”, said the Police officer, adding that the woman was part of human trafficking network active India. “In Jammu, thousands of Rohingians are staying illegally, but after sudden raise in terror related cases in Jammu region, the administration under the leadership of LG Manoj Sinha is leaving no stone unturned to foil, unholy attempts of these people”, the officer said.
